Company profile

Kingpo Technology Development Limited is a manufacturer of Luer taper gauges and medical device testing equipment, based in Dongguan, Guangdong, China. We have supplied gaging to the medical and health-care industry since 2000, and we manufacture, calibrate and inspect the gauges we sell in-house rather than buying and reselling them.

That distinction matters to a buyer: when a gauge set leaves our works it has already been measured against the standard it claims to verify, on the same metrology equipment we use for recalibration. Our customers are inspection organisations and quality departments — TÜV Rheinland (Germany, France, UK, Japan, Malaysia, India), TÜV SÜD (USA, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, India), BV, UL, SGS and CSA — whose own reports are audited downstream.

What we manufacture

Our catalogue divides into four working groups. Click through for the dimensional data and photographs of each item.

1. Luer taper gauge sets (6 % Luer)

Gauge sets for verifying male and female Luer cones and Luer lock fittings under ISO 594-1 / ISO 594-2 and ISO 80369-7. Reference gauges in this group follow the standard's own annexes: Fig C.2 (male, Luer slip), Fig C.3 (female, Luer slip), Fig C.4 (male, Luer lock), Fig C.5 (female, Luer lock) and Fig C.6 (male, Luer lock with collar). Sets ship as a matched group so that a single certificate covers every member.

2. Small-bore connector test equipment

Fixtures and instruments for the performance tests that accompany the dimensional checks: liquid leakage, pressure decay leakage, stress cracking, separation force (axial and unscrewing torque) and positive-pressure liquid leakage under ISO 80369-7 and the ISO 80369 series.

3. Anaesthetic and respiratory gauges

ISO 5356-1 cones and sockets for anaesthetic and respiratory equipment, plus gauges built to ISO 8638 for blood-contact connectors.

4. Medical electrical and general test equipment

IEC 60601 test equipment for leakage current and dielectric strength, alongside general-purpose items such as lamp cap gauges and environmental test chambers.

Standards we work to

We manufacture, calibrate and inspect gauges to the following standards, and can quote against a customer drawing where the geometry falls outside them:

  • ISO 594-1 / ISO 594-2 — 6 % (Luer) taper conical fittings: dimensions, requirements and test methods
  • ISO 80369-7 — small-bore connectors for intravascular or hypodermic applications (the successor to ISO 594 for new designs)
  • ISO 5356-1 — conical connectors for anaesthetic and respiratory equipment
  • ISO 8638 — extracorporeal blood-circuit connectors
  • ANSI/HIMA MD70.1 — Luer taper fittings for medical devices (US market practice)
  • IEC 60601 — medical electrical equipment safety testing

Who buys from Kingpo

Kingpo is used by third-party inspection bodies and in-house quality departments that need their own measurement result to survive an audit. Inspection organisations that have sourced gaging from us include TÜV Rheinland (Germany, France, UK, Japan, Malaysia, India), TÜV SÜD (USA, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, India), BV, UL, SGS and CSA. We also supply OEM and ODM programmes: if a connector maker needs a gauge to a drawing that is not in the standard, we build it and calibrate it against that drawing.

How an order runs

  1. Send the requirement. The standard and figure number (or your drawing), quantity and required calibration evidence.
  2. Technical confirmation. We confirm the gauge geometry, tolerance class and the standard's latest version before quoting — ISO 594 and ISO 80369-7 do not describe identical geometries, so this step prevents the common and expensive mistake of ordering the wrong taper.
  3. Quotation and lead time. Standard sets are quoted from stock or from the current production schedule; custom gauges are quoted with a drawing for approval.
  4. Manufacture, calibration and inspection. The gauge is made, then verified on the metrology equipment used for its own calibration, and the dimensional result is recorded.
  5. Documentation and packing. Certificate, dimensional report and packing list are issued with the shipment; export packing is standard.
  6. After-sales. Recalibration and replacement of individual members of a set, so one worn gauge does not force a whole set to be repurchased.

Quality and documentation

Because our gauges are used to accept or reject other people's product, the paperwork is part of the deliverable rather than an extra. Documentation supplied with an order typically covers:

  • gauge drawing and identification (standard, figure number, serial)
  • calibration / inspection result for the delivered item, not a generic sample certificate
  • material and heat-treatment statement for the gauge body where specified
  • packing list and commercial documents required for export clearance

Tell us which documents your quality system requires at the quotation stage — adding them after manufacture is slower and sometimes impossible.

Frequently asked questions

Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?

A manufacturer. We machine, calibrate and inspect the gauges we sell, and we offer OEM and ODM production against a customer drawing.

Do you supply ISO 594 gauges, ISO 80369-7 gauges, or both?

Both. ISO 80369-7 is the current standard for new small-bore connector designs, while ISO 594 remains in use for legacy 6 % Luer fittings; many customers hold sets to both. The two are not interchangeable, so state which one you are verifying against when you enquire.

Can you build a gauge that is not in any standard?

Yes — this is the OEM/ODM side of the business. Send the drawing and the tolerance you need to hold, and we will confirm whether it is producible before quoting.

Do you calibrate gauges you did not make?

Calibration and dimensional inspection are part of our service. Contact us with the gauge type and its standard; we will tell you whether it falls within the range we hold reference equipment for.

Where do you ship from, and how long does it take?

From Dongguan, Guangdong. Standard sets are normally the fastest option; custom gauges add drawing approval and manufacture time. Ask for a firm date with the quotation rather than a range.

What should I send to get a quotation?

The standard and figure number (or a drawing), the quantity, the calibration documentation you need, and your destination country for freight.
