For example, I have set a time limit for my social media indulgences and give myself a thumbs-up if I adhere to it, and it has been very helpful.
Those irresistible desires can really disrupt your life, whether it affects your relationships, health, or how you perceive yourself. For example, if you consistently reach for unhealthy food, you may end up with some extra weight and other health issues.
And if you're always falling into in the social media snare, you could end up feeling inadequate. It's essential to notice how these impulses can disrupt you and take action.
Another method to combat those impulses is to cultivate mindfulness and experiencing gratitude. By maintaining your attention on the present and valuing what you have, you can suppress those instant gratification desires. This has significantly assisted me observe my impulses and make more considered decisions about how I handle them.
